Ratio of marks of English, Hindi, and Mathematics = 2 : 3 : 5

Let the marks be = 2x, 3x, and 5x (1)

According to the given question:

40 marks are more in Mathematis than in Hindi. That means:

3x + 40 = 5x

=》 40 = 2x

=》 20 = x

Put the value of x in (1):

2x = 40

3x = 60

5x = 100

Let marks in English=2x (1)

in Hindi=3x. (2)

In mathematics=5x (3)

According to the question,

Mathematics =40+ 3x

5x=40+3x

40=5x-3x

40=2x

X =20

Putting the value in (1),(2),(3)

English=2*20

=40 marks

Hindi=3*20

=60 marks

Mathematics=5*20=100 marks
