EXPLANATION:

Consider the given equations

7x-2y=20 ------(1)

11x+5y=-23-----(2)

from equation (1) we get

y=7x-20/2

on putting value of y in equation (2) we get

11x+15 [7x-20/2]=-23

11x+105x/2-300/2=-23

11x+105x/2-150=-23

22x+105x/2=-23+150

127x/2=127

127x=127×2

127x=254

x=254/127

x=2

Therefore,

y=7×2-20/2

y=14-20/2

y=-6/2

y=-3

Hence the value of x and y is 2,-3
