Answer:

1. 3 positive integers in the ratio 2:3:5. The sum of the numbers whose squares are 950.

Let the numbers be 2x, 3x and 5x.

Sum of their squares is (2x)²+(3x)²+(5x)²=950.

4x+9x+25x=950.

38x=950

x=950÷38

x=25.

Now, 2x=2×25=50, 3x=3×25=75, 5x=5×25=125.

Thus, numbers are 50, 75 and 125.

2. Let perimeter of s₁=60m, s₂=144m.

Area of s₁=(perimeter/4)²

Area of s₁=(60/4)²

A of s₁=15²

A of s₁=225m².

Area of s₂=(perimeter/4)²

A of s₂=(144/4)²

Area of s₂=36²

A=1296m².

Area of s₃=Area of s₁+ area of s₂

Area of s₃= 36+1296

Area of s₃=1521m²

Thus, perimeter=√(area)

P=√1521

P=39m.
