the area of the road running parallel to length will be 30×2 = 60
and other parallel to breadth will be 20×2= 40. I hope this will help you

sorry I did wrong in the above pic.

solution:

L of road parallel to length= 30m
B=2m
area= l×b
=30×2
=60m^2

L of road parallel to breadth=20m
B=2m
area=l×b
=20×2
=40^2

total area=60+40-(2)^2
=100-4
=96m^2
