Hi there !

Here's your answer.

Dimensions of cuboid = 10m × 8m × 3m

Volume of earth take = Volume of pit

= 10m × 8m × 3m

= 240m³

Dimensions of rectangular plot = 40m × 30m

Let the increase in level of plot be ' h '

Volume of earth = volume on rectangular plot in which the earth is spread

Volume = length × breadth × height

240 = 40 × 30 × h

h =  \frac{240}{40 \times 30}

h =  \frac{240}{1200}

h = 0.2

so the rise in level is 0.2 m or 20 cm

Given that Pit is dug in the shape of a cuboid.

Given the length of the pit = 10m

Given the breadth of the pit = 8m.

Given the height of the pit = 3m.

We know that volume of the pit = l * b * h

                                                      = 10 * 8 * 3

                                                       = 240cm^3.

Now,

Given that Length of the rectangular plot = 40m.

Given that breadth of the rectangular plot = 30m.

We know that Area of the rectangular plot = 40 * 30

                                                                        = 1200

The increase of the plot = 240/1200

                                         = 20cm.

Therefore the increase in the level of the plot is 20cm.

NOTE: The answer can be 20 or 21cm.

Hope this helps!

Anonymous: Sir, is it 240m^3 or 240cm^3?
AritraK: Sir, you have made a mistake, it will be 240 m³
AritraK: Not 240 cm³
Anonymous: yes !
AritraK: But thank you for the help.
siddhartharao77: ohhkk.. but the volume will be in cm^3..i think
AritraK: Ok.
