Zero to zeroth power is often said to be "an indeterminate form", because it could have several different values. Since a0 is 1 for all numbers a other than 0, it would be logical to define that 00 = 1...

We have,

a^0

= a^(1 - 1)

= a^[(1) + (-1)]

= a^1 * a^(-1)

= ( a^1) / (a^1)

= a/a

= 1
