Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is clean India campaign introduced by Government of India covering 4,401 cities and towns all over India. It is also called Clean India Mission. This campaign was launched by honorable Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Modi on the 145th birth anniversary of "Father of the Nation"  Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd October,2014. It was launched at Rajghat, New Delhi. The main objectives of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is to spread awareness among people about proper sanitation and proper disposal of wastes.,construction of toilets and latrine to stop defection in open , solid and liquid waste management , keeping cities and villages clean.

Sri Narendra Modi has invited famous personalities like Sachin Tendulkar, Priyanka Chopra, Amitabh Bachaan, Vidya Balan, Aamir Khan and many other personalities to contribute to Swachh Bharat Mission by influencing and encouraging people through social media and other forms of mass communication.

Anant Khasbardar from Maharashtra designed the logo "Gandhiji's spectacles" while the slogan "Ek Kadam Swachhta ki or" was given by Bhagyasri Sheth from Gujarat.
The logo "Gandhiji's spectacles with Swachh Bharat written on two glasses with the tricolor bridge signifies that India will achieve the vision of Mahatma Gandhi of clean India. The slogan emphasizes people of India to contribute to achieve the goal of Swachh Bharat.

Swachh bharat abhiyan is a cleanliness mission which was specially launched on 2nd october 2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi by the Indian Prime Minister, Narender Modi as a  nationwide cleanliness mission. this mission is  covering 4,041 statutory cities and towns Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is also called as the clean India mission or clean India campaign. Indian government has aimed to make India clean by 2nd october 2019 on Gandhi ji's 150th birthday. It is a politics free mission and inspired by the patriotism. It is launched as a responsibility of every Indian to make this country a clean country. The father of nation, Mahatma Gandhi was dreamed to make India a clean India and always did effort to make clean India. That's why swachh bharat abhiyan was launched on Gandhi ji's birthday. This mission has initiated many people towards cleanliness. Everywhere peoples are joining this “Clean India Campaign” very actively with great passion and joy. This campaign has an interesting theme of inviting nine new people by every involved people in the campaign and continuing this chain until the each and every citizen of India gets involved in this campaign. In this way India can be a clean Indian.
