Given polynomial :- f(x) = x² - C(x + 1) - C

α and β are the zeros of f(x).

We know,

  • α + β = -b/a
  • αβ = c/a

In the polynomial,

  • a = 1
  • b = -C
  • c = -C

α + β = -(-C)/1 = C

αβ = -C/1 = -C

Now,

(α + 1)(β + 1) = αβ + α + β + 1

⇒(α + 1)(β + 1) = (-C) + (C) + 1

⇒(α + 1)(β + 1) = 1               →→→→ ANSWER
