Answer:

9(x-5) = 4x-5

→ Opening the brackets,

= 9x - 45 = 4x -5

→ Moving the variables to the LHS and constants to the RHS,

= 9x - 4x = -5 + 45

→ 5x = 40

∴ x = \dfrac{40}{5}

= 8

x = 8

∴ The required option is Option A = 8

Verification:

9(x-5) = 4x-5

Now, we know that the value of x is 8.

So substituting the values,

= 9 x (8-5) = (4x8)-5

= 9 x 3 = 32 - 5

→  27 = 27

∴ LHS = RHS

Hence, proved!

The previous Question's answer

x + 9 = 13

same sum in my book too

The x = 4

now how

Subtract 9 from both sides of the equation

+ 9 = 13

x + 9-9 = 13-9

Subtract the numbers

= 4
