3.1 Wool
- The wool comes from animals like sheep, goats, yak and camel
- The hair close to our skin like hair on our body and arms are soft and the hair on our head is coarse hair. Like us, the hairy skin of sheep has two types of fibres that form its fleece (or wool), i.e.
- Coarse beard hair
- Soft under-hair close to the skin.
The steps involved for processing fibres into wool are shearing, scouring from sheep, sorting, dyeing, straightening, rolling and combing.
3.2 Silk
Silk is a natural fibre that is obtained from a silk moth.
The rearing of silkworms for obtaining silk is called sericulture. For obtaining silk, silk moths are reared and their cocoons are collected to get silk thread.
P.S The chapter isn't tough. Reading the textbook once or twice would do. Using your brains would help too.
