The sum of two numbers = 1626

one of them is twice the other

so, x + 2x = 1626

3x = 1626

x = 1626/3

= 542

Let the first number is 542

Second number is 542 x 2 = 1082

Proof :- 1082 + 542 = 1082

Hence, proved ☺️
