Answer:

 \alpha  , \beta

are the roots of the equation

 {x}^{2}  + 7x + 10

here a=1

b=7

c=10

 \alpha  +  \beta  = ?

we know that

 \alpha  +  \beta  =  \frac{ - b}{a}

  \alpha  +  \beta  =   \frac{ - 7}{1}  \\  \alpha  +  \beta  =  - 7
