Answer:

Explanation:

1) Question :

The diagonal of square is 10 cm . Find it's area .

Solution :

Given :

Diagonal of square = 10 cm

To find : area of the entire square .

Area of square = d²/2

Procedure :

According to the formula of square

10²/2 = area

100/2 = area

50 cm² = area

Ans = 50cm²

2) calculate the area of equilateral triangle having side 20 cm .

Given : side of triangle = 20cm

Area of triangle = √3/4 × side² .

Also given that √3 = 1.732 .

Procedure :

Area of equilateral triangle = √3 × 20² /4

Area = 1.732 × 400/4

Area = 1.732 × 100 cm²

Area = 173.2cm²

3. Given : base of triangle is 6cm

Both sides are 5cm .

It's also indicated that there is a perpendicular dropped at the base of the triangle which is also the mid point of triangle as it divides the base into half . We know that the perpendicular will be the height of triangle too .

Procedure :

(Calculating the value of the value of height ) .

By Pythagoras theorem we know that

Base² + height² = hypotenuse ²

3² + height² = 5 ²

Height ² = 25 - 9

Height ² = 16

Height = √ 16

Height = 4

Area of the triangle by formula = 1/2 × height × base

Area = 1/2 × 4 × 6

Area = 12cm²

4) find area of scalene triangle having sides 6cm , 8cm and 10cm .

Given : sides as 6cm , 8cm , 10cm

Also given that are of scalene triangle = √s (s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

S = a +b+c/2

Procedure = s = 6+8+10/2

= 24/2 = 12

Area of triangle = √ 12 ( 12-6)(12-8)(12-10)

Area of triangle = √12(6)(4)(2)

Area of triangle = √12×48

Area of triangle = √336

Area of triangle = 18.330 cm²
