Perimeter of a rectangle = 2×(length+breadth)

Area of a rectangle = length×breadth

Perimeter of a square= 4×side

Area of a square= side×side

{For \ Rectangle}

In the given picture, you are provided by either the length and breath and asked to find the perimeter & area of the rectangle or there are other missing units (like area and length, perimeter and breadth, etc). For the first case, you have to just solve it by using either one of the given formula but if it's the other case you are supposed to follow the formula and make certain changes.

For example,

let's take the 4th one of the rectangle table

There it is given:

length = 12 cm

area = 96 cm²

And we are supposed to find the perimeter and the breadth.

First we are going to find the perimeter.

For that we are going to use the basic formula to find area.

Area of a rectangle = length×breadth

We are provided with the breadth and the area,

Therefore, let's take length as 'x'

96cm²= x × 12 cm

96cm²/12cm = x

48cm/6 = x (divided by 2)

8 = x (divided by 6)

You can do the rest by using this concept but changing the formula as per the given units.

{For \ Square}

In the given picture, you are provided by either the side and asked to find the perimeter & area of the square or there are other missing units (like area and side or perimeter and side). For the first case, you have to just solve it by using either one of the given formula but if it's the other case you are supposed to follow the formula and make certain changes.

For example,

let's take the 8th one of the square table.

It is given that:

Perimeter = 72 cm,

And we are supposed to find the area and the side.

Firstly, we'll find the side.

For that we'll use the given formula,

♦ Perimeter of a square = 4×side

Now we'll place the unit.

72 cm = 4×side

72cm/4 = side

18cm = side (divided by 4)

Now we know that side=18cm. Let us find the area. For that we'll use the area formula which is,

♦Area of a square= side×side

Area = 18cm×18cm

Area = 324cm²

Again, you can do the rest by using this concept but changing the formula as per the given units.

Hopefully it helps!
