✺ Given :

  • If one bee sits on each flower 1 bee will be left
  • If one bee sits on each flower 1 bee will be leftIf 2 bees sit on each flower 1 flower will be left

✺ To FinD :

  • Number of bees
  • Number of bees Number of flowers

✺ Explanation :

Let , number of bees = X

and the number of flowers = Y

Now ,

Condition 1 :-If one bee sits on each flower 1 bee will be left --

➩ X-Y=1

➩ X = (Y+1) ---------------------(i)

✏ Condition 1 :-If one bee sits on each flower 1 bee will be left

➩ 2×(Y-1)=X

( as , bees only sit on (Y-1) numbers of flowers , and on each flower there are 2 bees )

➩ 2Y-2=Y+1 [ from equation (i) ]

➩ 2Y-Y=1+2

Y = 3

Now , putting the value of Y = 3 in equation (i)

Now , putting the value of Y = 3 in equation (i)we get ,

➩ X = 3+1

X = 4

✺ Therefore :

Number of Bees = 4 and Number of flowers = 3.
