Solution
- Radius of cone = 6cm
- Height of cone = 8cm
Slant height of cone
→ √h² + r²
→ √(8)² + (6)²
→ √64 + 36
→ √100
→ 10cm
** Now, Applying formula
★ Lateral surface area of cone
→ πrl
→ 22/7 × 6 × 10
→ 132 × 10/7
→ 1320/7
→ 188.57 cm²

- Lateral Surface or Curved Surface Area of Cone
We know that,
➠ Curved Surface Area of a Cone = πrl
And,
We also know that,
➠ Slant height (l) = l² = r² + h²
So,
➠ Slant height (l) = l² = 6² + 8²
↣ l² = 36 + 64
↣ l² = 100
↣ l = 10 cm
Now,
➠ Curved Surface Area of a Cone = πrl
↣ πrl = 22/7 × 6 × 10
↣ 1320/7
↣188.57 cm²
Hence,
Lateral Surface Area of a Cone = 188.57cm²
