Given

Find the lateral surface area of cone with radius 6cm and height 8cm

Solution

  • Radius of cone = 6cm
  • Height of cone = 8cm

Slant height of cone

→ √h² + r²

→ √(8)² + (6)²

→ √64 + 36

→ √100

→ 10cm

** Now, Applying formula

Lateral surface area of cone

→ πrl

→ 22/7 × 6 × 10

→ 132 × 10/7

→ 1320/7

→ 188.57 cm²

Some Formulae

  • Volume of cone = 1/3πr²h
  • TSA of cone = πrl + πr²
  • LSA of cone = πrl

Find Lateral Surface Area of a cone with radius 6cm and height 8cm

\large\red{\underline{\underline{\bf{\blue{Given}}}}}

  • Radius(r) of a Cone = 6cm

  • Height(h) of a cone = 8 cm

\large\red{\underline{\underline{\bf{\blue{To Find}}}}}

  • Lateral Surface or Curved Surface Area of Cone

\large\red{\underline{\underline{\bf{\blue{Solution}}}}}

We know that,

Curved Surface Area of a Cone = πrl

And,

We also know that,

Slant height (l) = l² = r² + h²

So,

Slant height (l) = l² = 6² + 8²

l² = 36 + 64

l² = 100

l = 10 cm

Now,

Curved Surface Area of a Cone = πrl

πrl = 22/7 × 6 × 10

1320/7

188.57 cm²

Hence,

Lateral Surface Area of a Cone = 188.57cm²

More Formulas :-

Cone

  • Volume = 1/3πr²h

  • Total Surface Area = πr(r + l)

  • Curved Surface Area = πrl

  • Slant height (l) = √r² + h²
