(2)The difference in their boiling points

(3)Water, because it has a boiling point of 100-degree celsius.

(4)Alcohol has a boiling point lower than that of water, hence it evaporates fast and water remains back in the flask as it takes longer to evaporate.

(5)The fractionating column cools the hot vapour of the evaporating liquid and condenses it get back into the distillation flask ‘X’
