ANSWERS

a) Let the parallelogram be ABCD and angle A be 80°

Angle A + angle B = 180° (alternate angles of a parallelogram are supplementary)

80+ angle B = 180

Angle B = 180-80 = 100

Angle C = angle A (interior opposite angles of a parallelogram are equal)

Angle C = 80°

Angle D = angle B (interior opposite angles of a parallelogram are equal)

Angle D = 100°

b) The diagonals of a square bisect each other and meet at 90°

The diagonals of a square bisect its angles. Opposite sides of a square are both parallel and equal in length. .

.. (Each is 360°/4 = 90°, so every angle of a square is a right angle.)

c) A=½ b.h
