Questions :

a) Find the area of the triangle ABCD

b) What type of traingle is ABC

c) Find the area of the triangle ABC

Solutions :

a) In ABCD,

  • Length = 12 cm

  • Breadth = 4 cm

As we know that,

Area of a rectangle = Length × Breadth

So,

Area = Length × Breadth

Area = 12cm × 4cm

Area = 48cm²

Hence, the area is 48 cm²

b) ABC is a Right angle triangle

Because it has 90° which is ∠B and it has hypotentuse which is present only in this type of traingle

c) As we know that,

AD = CB [Reason : Opposite sides are equal]

We know the value of AB hence by putting that we get

12 cm = CD

CD = 4 cm

Now, to the area of the triangle ABC

Area = 1/2 × Base × Height

  • Base = AB

  • Height = CD

Area = 1/2 × AB × CD

By putting the values we get

Area = 1/2 × 12 cm × 4 cm

Area = 24 cm²

Hence, the area is 24 cm²
