Answer- A cylinder is a 3-D shape with 3 faces. The top and bottom surfaces are flat while there is one curved surface too. Formulae to remember-  1. Curved Surface Area=2πrh sq. units 2. Total Surface Area= 2πr(r+h) sq. units 3. Volume= πr^2h cubic units Here, r= radius and h= height.  See the following attachment for solutions of the question.

Given :-

The diameter of the cylinder = 20cm

Therefore it's radius = 20/2 = 10cm

The curved surface area of the cylinder is given = 1000cm²

We know the formula for solving for the CSA (curved surface area) of a cylinder, that is 2πrh

Therefore 2πrh = 1000cm²

==> 2 × 3.14 × 10 × h = 1000cm²

==> 62.8 × h = 1000cm²

==> h = 1000/62.8

==> h = 15.9 cm (approx)

The height of the cylinder is 15.9cm.

Now we have to find the volume of the cylinder.

The formula for finding the volume of a cylinder is πr²h

Hence, the volume of the cylinder = πr²h

= 3.14 × 10 × 10 × 15.9

= 34980/7

= 4992.6cm³
