Answer:

Area of the shaded portion :

There are two rectangles and a square in this shaded portion. I have enclosed a diagram so that you can understand easily.

Length and breadth of rectangle ABCD are 50 m and 5 m respectively.

Area of rectangle ABCD = L × B

= 50 × 5

= 250 sq m

Length and breadth of the rectangle EFGH are 35 m and 5 m respectively.

Area of rectangle EFGH = 35 × 5

= 175 sq m

Length of each side of the square IJKL is 5 m.

Area of square = 5 × 5

= 25 sq m

Now, Area of the shaded portion = (Area of rectangle ABCD + Area of rectangle EFGH) - Area of square IJKL

= (250 sq m + 175 sq m) - 25 sq m

= 425 sq m - 25 sq m

= 400 sq m

So, the area of the shaded portion is 400 sq m.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: breadth of both path= 4m

length of one path=45m

length if second path=38m

area of whole field= l x b

                               = 45 x 38

                               =1680 sq.m

area of path 1 = 45 x 4

                      = 180 sq.m

area of path 2 = 38 x 4

                        = 152 sq.m

area of both path= 180+152

                             =232 sq.m

width of each path is 4 m.Therefore the square formed in the intersection of paths is a square with each side 4 m.

area of common block = 4 x 4

                                      =16 sq.m

We have added it twice because it is common in both paths. So,we will subtract it once.

⇒ 232 - 16

= 216 sq.m

Cost for graveling 1 sq.m = Rs. 5.60

 Therefore, cost for graveling 213 sq.m area = 216 x 5.60

                                                                          = Rs. 1209.6    [Answer]
