Let ∆ ABC be an isosceles triangle.

Vertex Angle A is 40°

Base angles are equal .

Let base angles be 'a' degree.

Angle B & C be ' a ' degrees.

Angle A + Angle B + Angle C = 180° ( Sum of measures of Angels of a triangle is 180°)

40° +a° + a° = 180

40+2a = 180

2a = 180–40 = 140

a = 140/2 = 70°

The base angles are 70° .

Angle B = 70° & Angle C = 70°
