Let the side of the square be x cm

Area of the square = x^2

Length of the rectangle is 5 cm more than the side of the square and breadth of the rectangle is 3 less than the side of the square.

Then length = x + 5 cm

Breadth = x - 3 cm

Area of rectangle = (x+5) (x-3) sq. cm.

But area of sq and rectangle are same.

Hence, x^2= (x+5) (x-3)

Solving this we get x= 7.5cm

Then length = 7.5+5= 12.5cm

Breadth= 7.5-3= 4.5 cm

Then perimeter of the rectangle

= 2(l +b) cm

= 2(12.5+4.5) = 34 cm
