Let theta = ß

Tan ß + Sec ß = e^x .... Equation ( i )

Sec² ß - Tan² ß = 1

=>

( Sec ß - Tan ß ) × ( Sec ß + Tan ß ) = 1

=>

( Sec ß - Tan ß ) = 1/e^x .... Equation ( ii )

Now, Add both the Equations ( i and ii ) we have.

2 Sec ß = (1/e^x ) + e^x

=>

2 Sec ß = { 1 + e^2x } / e^x

=>

Sec ß = { ( e^-x + e^x )/2 }
