8. Let the no.s be 2x and 5x respectively.
∴ 5x - 2x = 15
⇒ 3x = 15
⇒ x = 15/3
⇒ x = 5
∴ 2x = 2 x 5 = 10 and 5x = 5 x 5 = 25

So, we have,
12 + x/ 22 + x = 42 + x/ 72 + x
⇒ (12 + x)(72 + x) = (22 + x)(42 +x)

⇒ 84x - 64x = 924 - 864
⇒ 20x = 60
⇒ x = 60/20
