b) let total marks be x,
    bree scored 76% marks which is 38 out of x

the process used to find percentage is
(marks scored/total marks) * 100= marks in percentage 
(38 / x) * 100 = 76%
x= (100 * 38) / 76= 50
hence, total marks were 50

a) total marks=50 
   anwen scored 82%
  
i.e. (y / 50) * 100= 82
     y= (82 * 50) /100
      y = 41
hence, anwen scored 41 marks
