given 2bulbs ,

voltage rating = 220v

power consumed by 1śt bulb = 40watts

power consumed by 2ńd bulb = 60watts

the bulbs are connected in series so current should be same and additive

answer :

power = voltage * current

current = power / voltage

current taken by 1śt bulb = 40/220= 2/11A

current taken by 2ńd bulb= 60/220 = 3/11 A

supply current = current taken by 1śt bulb +

current taken by 2ńd bulb

= 2+3/(11) = 5/11 ampere ! = 0.454A

supply current = 0.454ampere
