as thereis a divergent wire in between the 4 and 6 ohm resistor

hence the current wont go from the 6 ohm resistor instead it will go on the obstruction less(resistor less) path

its the same situation when you have to choose between  a rocky bumpy road(the resistor one) or the clear road(the lower one)

hence the answer is 4 ohm beacuse as no current flows through the 6 ohm resistor hence its resistance won't be counted
