Solution -

We have an equation and need to solve for the value of x.

\tt\dashrightarrow{\dfrac{2x - 4}{3} = \dfrac{3x + 4}{2}}

Cross multiplying

\tt\dashrightarrow{2(2x - 4) = 3(3x + 4)}

\tt\dashrightarrow{4x- 8 = 9x + 12}

\tt\dashrightarrow{4x - 9x = 12 + 8}

\tt\dashrightarrow{-5x = 20}

\tt\dashrightarrow{x = \dfrac{20}{-5}}

\bf\dashrightarrow{x = -4}

Hence,

  • Value of x is -4.

Given:

  •  \tt \: equation :  \dfrac{2x - 4}{3}  =  \dfrac{3x + 4}{2}

 \\

To Find:

  • The value of the variable x

 \\

Solution:

{ : \implies} \tt \:  \dfrac{2x - 4}{3}  =  \dfrac{3x + 4}{2}

~Now,let's cross multiply the fractions to find the value of x

What is cross multiplication ?

When two fractions are in the form a/b = c/d we multiply them and form an equation in the format a × d = c × d

 \dashrightarrow \tt \: 2(2x - 4) = 3(3x + 4) \\  \\  \\ \dashrightarrow \tt 4x - 8 = 9x + 12 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\  \\ \dashrightarrow \tt  - 8 - 12 = 9x - 4x \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\  \\ \dashrightarrow \tt  - 20 = 5x \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\  \\ \dashrightarrow \tt x =   \cancel\frac{ - 20}{ \:  4}  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\  \\ \dashrightarrow \tt { \pink{ \boxed{ \pmb{ \frak{x =  - 4}}} \bigstar}} \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:

  • Henceforth the value of x is - 4
