1) The Writer Is - William Wordsworth.

2) Wordsworth describes the daffodils he sees as a "crowd." They are golden and have blossomed beside a lake, under trees that would not yet have any leaves. The daffodils are "fluttering and dancing" because it is breezy outside.

3) By "inward eye" the poet means that when he is in a thoughtful or pensive mood, these daffodils come into his mind and in his dreams. Inward eye meaning is; in his dreams.

4) The speaker is wandering as lonely as a cloud in the opening of the poem because he is out of sorts: he sees nothing on his walk that moves him to feel joy (it is early spring, so not much would be out yet) and no happy memories come to his mind.

5) When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden Daffodils; Suddenly ("all at once"), the speaker sees a group of daffodil flowers. We tend to think of daffodils as "yellow," but he uses the more majestic-sounding "golden."

6) The daffodil flowers are yellow and therefore comparable to gold in its colour. Moreover, the flowers lend the poet a kind of golden memory and bring him joy and happiness that he cherishes in his lonely moments. That is why the daffodils are called 'golden daffodils'.

The theme of the poem is Nature's Beauty with a mix of Happiness and Loneliness. The Author, Wordsworth is shown to be lonely, but when he thinks back to the Daffodils 'dancing'(Nature's beauty) he is happy and content.
