angle c = 110⁰ ( since corresponding angles)

angle a = 180⁰-110⁰

= 70⁰ ( in a straight line the angle is 180⁰)

angle b = angle a ( alternate interior angles)

angle b = 70⁰

i) from the figure

AO = 320 km

AB = 240 km

BO = the shortest distance covered by the plane to reach its original position

So,we have to find the BO

we can observe that the triangle formed is right angled triangle

so, AO² + AB²= BO²

=> (320)² + (240)² = 1,02,400 + 57,000

= 1,60,000

= √1,60,000

= 400 = BO

SO, THE SHORTEST DISTANCE COVERED BY

THE PLANE TO REACH ITS ORIGINAL POSITION

IS 400 km .
