Given & To Find :

An object is dropped from a height of 100m, after 3 seconds, find the distance travelled by the object ,.

We know that acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 m/s²

⇒ a = 9.8m/s²

⇒ t = 3s (given in Q)

⇒ u = 0 (object started from rest)

We know that,

s = ut + \frac{1}{2}at²

s = 0 x 3 + \frac{1}{2} x 9.8 x 3²

s = 0 + 4.9 x 9

s = 44.1 m

∴ The distance travelled by the object = 100 + 44.1 = 144.1 m (s is displacement, distance = total path length,. hence 100m should be added,.)
