= log((a+b) /a)

= log(a+b) - log(a)

(since you may be knowing

that log(A/B) = log(A) -

log(B)....to any base )

In your question there is a pattern.......

log(1+1/3) = log(4/3) = log4-log3

log(1+1/4) = log(5/4) = log5-log4

log(1+1/5) = log(6/5) = log6-log5

.

log(1+1/242) = log(243/242) = log243-log242

Adding Right hand side and left hand side separately all the intermediate terms on left hand side will be canceled........

= log243 - log3

=5 - 1 = 4 (since base is 3)
