Answer of 3 (a)

Here

R1 is 2 ohm

R2 is 4 ohm

R3 is 3 ohm

Here R1 and R2 are in series so,

Rs = R1 + R2

= 2 ohm + 4 ohm

= 6 ohm......................(1)

Now Rs and R3 are in parallel

1/Rp = 1/6 + 1/3 ..............from (1)

= 1 + 2/6

= 3/6

= 1/2

Rp = 2 ohm

So effective resistance is 2 ohm.

So this is solution.
