Given that,

  \frac{3}{4}  + ( \frac{ - 4}{9} ) -  \frac{ - 7}{4}

 = ( \frac{3}{4}  -  \frac{7}{4} ) + ( \frac{ - 4}{9} )

 = ( \frac{3 - 7}{4} ) -  \frac{4}{9}

 =  \frac{ - 4}{ 4 }  -  \frac{4}{9}

 =  - 1 - \frac{ - 4}{9}

 =   \frac{ - 9 - 4}{9}

 =  \frac{ - 13}{9}
