Now ,

 3y²-y²/-6y-8y² =1/5

5 (3y²-y²) = 1 (-6y-8y²)

15y²-5y² = -6y-8y²

8y²+10y² = -6y

18y² = -6y

y = 18y²/-6

y = -3y²

here y get cancelled......so y = 3
