(a)  Let the equivalent resistance be Re

They are in parallel connection

So : 1/Re ==> 1/r + 1/r

                                  1/Re  ==> 1/8 + 1/8 ohms

                                ==> 1/Re = 2 × 1/8 ohms = 1/4 ohms

                                ==> 1/Re = 1/4 ohms

                                ==> Re = 4 ohms

The effective resistance is 4 ohms.

b) Current = I

By Ohm's Law , V = IR

Given , V = 8 volts

             R is 4 ohms

                                 ==> V = I R

                                  ==> I = V/R

                                   ==> I = 8 volts/4 ohms

                                    ==> I = 2 amperes

                                    ==> I = 2 A

The current is 2 A.

(c) Potential difference = V

                                     ==> V = IR

                                     ==> V = 2 A×4 ohms

                                     ==> V = 8 v

The voltage is 8 v.

(d) Power = P = VI

                       = 8 v × 2 A

                       = 16 W

The power is 16 W.

(e) A 1 shows 2 A

Now resistance R in CD = 4 ohms [from (a)]

                                    I = V / R

                                 ==> I = 8 v / 4 ohms

                                 ==> I = 2 A

So A 2 will also show the same reading.

There will be no difference.

Hope it helps you
