As per the question,
x + 7% of x = 4995
x + 7x/100 = 4995
107x/100 = 4995
x = 4995/107 *100
= 4668.22.
So, the price before vat was Rs 4668.22.

If you calculate ,you will find according to your answer ,Vat will be 8%.
no 7%
(4995-4625)*100 / 4625 = 8.
