Equivalent resistance of whole circuit is 4 ohm.

Now equivalent resistance of 2 and x will be (2+x) ohm.

Also equivalent resistance of 7 and 5 will be (12) ohm.

Now equivalent resistance of (2+x) and (12) is 4 ohm given.

So,

 \frac{1}{4} = \frac{1}{2 + x} + \frac{1}{12}

 \frac{1}{4} = \frac{12 + 2 + x}{12(2 + x)}

3(2 + x) = 14 + x

2x = 8

x = 4 ohm

hey mate ur answer....:

1/4= 1/12 + 1/(2+x)

1/4 = 14+x/24+12x

56+4x = 24 + 12x

8x = 32

x = 4

hope it helps u...
