A rational number is a number which can be expressed in the form of p/q where p and q are integers .

Example :

\frac{5}{4} is rational .

√5 is irrational .

First solution :

L.C.M of 2 and 7 = 2 × 7 = 14

1/2 can be written as ( 1 × 14 ) / ( 2 × 14 )

⇒ 14/28 .

5/7 can be written as ( 5 × 4 ) / ( 7 × 4 )

⇒ 20/28

20/28 and 14/28 are the range of this two numbers .

Among this range there are 5 rational numbers :

15/28

16/28

17/28

18/28

19/28

Second solution :

- 4/5 can be written as ( - 4 × 6 ) / ( 5 × 6 )

⇒ -24/30

- 2/3 can be written as ( - 2 × 10 )/( 3 × 10 )

⇒ - 20/30

Among this range the 3 rational numbers are :

- 21/30

- 22/30

- 23/30
