Please solve my doubt... here the object distance is given as positive then image distance must be negative na..? C this ray diagram also here v tuk image down of the principal axis then according to sign conventions it must be negative na..?

no the image size (which you would require in calculating magnification) is negative. v represents the image distance and hence since it is to the right of optical centre it is taken as positive.
