volume of cube=a^3
dv/dt=3a^2 da/dt
=> da/dt=9/3a^2
surface area of cube=6a^2
ds/dt=12a da/dt
=>12a×(9/3a^2)
=>36/10 =3.6 cm^2/s
area is increasing at the rate of 3.6 cm^2/s
