B1)

Height of object (h) = 1 cm

Radius of curvature = 20 cm

Focal length of convex mirror = R/2

= 20/2

=10 cm

Distance of object from mirror (u) = -20 cm

Distance of image from mirror (v) =?

Using mirror formula

 \implies \frac{1}{f}  =  \frac{1}{v}  +  \frac{1}{u}

 \implies \:  \frac{1}{ 10}  =  \frac{1}{v}  +  \frac{1}{ - 20}

 \implies \:  \frac{1}{ - 10}  =  \frac{1}{v  }  -  \frac{1}{20}

 \implies \:  \frac{1}{ 10   }  +  \frac{1}{20}  =  \frac{1}{v}

 \implies \:  \frac{  2 + 1}{20}  =  \frac{1}{v}

 \implies \:  \frac{  3}{20}  =  \frac{1}{v}

 \implies \: v =   \frac{20}{3}

Now, distance between object and image = u+v

 =  - 20 +  \frac{20}{3}

 =  \frac{ - 60 + 20}{3}

 =  \frac{ - 40}{3}

Since, we are bothered about the distance, so the distance in cms between head of object to image is 40/3 cms. Hence, option C is correct.

SillySam: I completed all the demands of the question
SillySam: and you need to read the question once again... distance is asked between the *heads* of both not between the foot of image to head of object :)
SillySam: I think I am correct here ;) ... but if you are saying there must be some mistake... kindly make me do it :)
