Let the present age of B be x years.
Then age of A = 2x/3

Age of B after 7 years = (x+7) years
Age of A after 7 years = (2x/3 + 7) years
According to question,
2x/3 + 7 + 6 = x + 7
= 2x/3 - x = 7-7 -6
= -x/3 = -6
= -x = -18
so, x = 18

present age of B = 18 years
present age of A = 2×18/3 = 2 × 6 = 12 years
