As you know, trigonometry is very symbol what can be very tricky if you don't Practice it much.
So, I just suggest you to do more similar problems.
So, Let's get back to the question.
#1. in this step I just took the lhs which means the left hand side of the problem and multiplied it with its conjugate or or rationalised the denominator
#2. so in the second step, I used the identity:
#3. the third step I cancelled cos A in both the numerator and the denominator.
#4. now we get (1 - sinA)/(cos A)
#5. now we distribute Cos A in the denominator to 1 and sin A in the numerator.
We get (1/cos A)-(sin A/cosA)
#6. this last step we get Sec A-Tan A
