Days taken by x men to complete the work =50 days .

When 7 more people are added

Number of men= x+7

Days Taken by them =50-10

=40

Since the work is same

We know the formula

work =men×day

therefore

x×50=(x-7)40

50x=40x-280

50x-40x=-280

10x=-280

x=-280/10

x=-28

Since men cannot be negetive ,Therefore ignoring negetive value and taking x=28 .


So number of men originally employed =28.
