Given Equation is 2x + ay - 1 = 0  ----- (1)

On comparing with a1x + b1y + c = 0, we get

a1 = 2, b1 = a, c1 = -1

Given Equation is 3x - 5y - 7 = 0  ---- (2)

On comparing with a2x + b2y + c = 0, we get

a2 = 3, b2 = -5, c2 = -7.

Given that the Equation will have a unique solution:

a1/a2 = b1/b2

2/3 = a/-5

a = -10/3.

(ii)

Given that the Equation has many solutions:

a1/a2 = b1/b2 = c1/c2

2/3 = a/-5 = -1/-7

No value of a.

Hope this helps!
