Question:-

The current flowing through a resistor connected in a circuit and the potential difference developed across its ends are as shown in the diagram by miliammeter and Voltmeter respectively.

(a) What are least counts of these meters?

(b) What is the resistance of the resistors ?

(a) Formula to find least count:-

Least Count =  \frac{Difference\ between\ two\ consecutive\ reading}{Number\ of\ divisions}

For mA:-

Here, Difference between two consecutive readings is 200 - 100 = 100

Number of divisions = 10

Least Count = \frac{100}{10}

                    = 10 mA

For V:-

Here, Difference between two consecutive readings is 2 - 1 = 1

Number of divisions = 10

Least Count = \frac{1}{10}

                    = 0.1 V

(b) For the second part of the question we would be using the concept of Ohm's Law:-

V = IR

Here, I = 250 mA = 0.25 A

        V = 2.4 V

Substitute the values:-

2.4 = (0.25)R

\frac{24}{10} x \frac{100}{25} = R

R = 9.6 \Omega

R = 9.6 \Omega

So, the Lease Count of Ammeter and Voltmeter is 10 mA and 0.1 V respectively and the Resistance in the circuit is 9.6 \Omega
