Let Resistance of broken wire was = R
and resistance of one wire given by Q is 2 ohm
both wire are connected In parallel .
we know,
1/R1 + 1/R2 = 1/Req
(R1 + R2)/R1.R2 = 1/Req
Req = R1.R2/(R1 + R2)
put R1 = R
R2 = 2 ohm
Req = 6/5 ohm
6/5 = 2R/( R +2)
6R + 12 = 10R
4R = 12
R = 3
hence, resistance of broken wire = 3 ohm
