(1)magnesium atom are electrically neutral because magnesium atom has two electrons in it. Both are lost when it changes to an ion leaving it with 12 positively charged protons and 10 negatively charged electrons. This produces a +2 positive charge.thats why it's ions are electricaly charged

(2) Average mass = (79+81)÷2 =80

so the average atomic mass of bromine is 80
